It's not uncommon for parents to think highly of their children. When your son or daughter steps onto the field or court, you can't help but think they are anything less than a prodigy in the making. However, for the Todds, their daughter Jaylah is undoubtedly a unique talent.
Six-year-old Jaylah Todd, nicknamed "Jaybug", may be easy to miss due to her small stature, but get a basketball in her hands and the Georgia native's ball handling skills will get your attention. "She's very athletic," said Todd's mother who also played basketball. "When she picked up the basketball, she just automatically loved it," she told Dee Armstrong. She added, "She was a little tomboy anyways."
According to her father Jeffery, "the energy and fierce competitiveness she brings to the court" is what sets her apart from other girls her age. Taught the basic fundamentals of ball handling by her father, young Jaylah quickly picked up the rest. "It's not right, she's picking up too quick!" said Jeffery on The Dee Armstrong Show, when recalling Jaylah's early experience with the basketball.
When asked what her favorite move is, the young Jaylah quickly answered "the crossover" and it shows. Check out the clips below of Jaylah running through dribbling drills with her father like they were nothing and visit her Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/Jaylahtodd706 to see more!
